Sophie began baking at the age of 3 and while most children peak at rice crispy buns, Sophie has always had a natural flair for baking, whether using the traditional family recipes she’s been given or creating her own concepts and designs. Sophie’s passion for sweet treats has grown and grown over the years and in turn this passion has progressed to Love Sweet Things.
Sophie may only be 18, but knows exactly what she wants to do to ensure everyone else Love Sweet Things as much as her. At 13 she attended courses in chocolatiering run by international chef Aldo Nicolello. Since then she has gone on to attend the sugarcraft guild to learn new techniques from guest demonstrators such as brush embroidery and rice paper flowers. Creating her first two tier celebration cake at 15 and winning an "Outstanding Achievement in Catering" at Nelson and Colne College. Sophie is currently finishing her college course in catering and managing the continued growth of Love Sweet Things.
Sophie is quite an inspiration, not only because of her young age but because of her drive and talent. Always looking to make things bigger and better she'll get up at the crack of dawn if necessary to deliver an irresistible fresh, delicious product.
Having recently had a new bespoke state of the art kitchen built to ensure the finest products are delivered, Sophie manages the running of Love Sweet Things with a complete hands on approach, to make sure every Love Sweet Thing product meets her high standards. If a product is not up to the standards Sophie sets then it doesn’t leave the kitchen.
